Playing Messages Inbox

If customers want “automatic playback” of unread messages in their Inbox, then there is a setting right under Notifications section called “Auto Play Inbox” Flip that to On. Autoplay will only work on the message list screen.

Add a Note or Tag

Press the + sign at the top right to add a Note or Tag to the message.

Press Add Tag

Type in a Tag name, then press Done. Don't enter a hashtag, that's added automatically.

You can add up to 8 tags per message.

There is no limit to how many unique tag names you can create.

Added tags are accessible on the My Kates screen under Personal Tags.

Forward One Message

Press the microphone icon to record a Preface. It will switch to a pause icon, press it to stop recording.

Press the Urgent box to mark the message as Urgent.

Once the message has recipients, press Send.

You can play your preface, but you cannot add to it. Pressing the Record button again starts a new recording.

Press the Plus sign to add Contacts or Contact Lists as recipients.

Press Groups for a List, Kate for Kate numbers, or Email to add E-mail Addresses as recipients.

Press anywhere next to intended recipients, then click Done.

Note: You can add recipients from all tabs before clicking Done and all will be added.

A three character match will be required before displaying a name for the To field.

Tapping a name already in the To field will highlight it in black. Tapping it again will remove it.

Forward Multiple Messages

Press Select at the top left of the inbox or saved screen.

Press each message that you would like to forward, then press Forward.

Contacts you send messages to frequently will be suggested, otherwise you can press the magnifying glass to go to your contacts.

New Message

Press the Plus sign to add Contacts or Contact Lists as recipients. Note: If the contact you are sending the message to has a Kate mailbox, then you cannot send or forward a message to their email address. Create a separate contact with JUST the email address as a workaround. A three character match will be required before displaying a name for the To field.

Tapping a name already in the To field will highlight it in black. Tapping it again will remove it.

Press the microphone to record, then press pause to stop recording. Press the Urgent box to mark the message as Urgent. Once the message has recipients, a recording, and a photo (if desired), press Send.

Editing a New Message or a Preface of a Forwarded Message

Edit allows you to stop recording a message, delete a mistake such as misspeaking or dead air, and then resume recording.

Once you have started recording a message, the Record icon changes to Pause. Press Pause immediately if a mistake in recording has been made.

Press Edit to remove the mistake.

Press Play to play the highlighted portion of the message.

Move the scissors back to the beginning of your mistake.

Press Delete to remove the highlighted portion.

Press Undo to undo an edit.

Press Done when finished editing.

Adding a Photo to a New Message

Voice Mail Photos are viewable from the most recent versions of both mobile apps and from the New Look web site.

Voice Mail Photos are not viewable in the Classic web site.

Messages forwarded from by phone (calling in) lose the photo attachment.

Pressing the Camera icon will open the camera on your phone.

Pressing the Picture icon will open the picture gallery on your phone.

Crop and/or Rotate your photo, then press Done.

Once the message has recipients, a recording, and a photo (if desired), press Send.
