Windows Live Mail Email Set-Up

Below are the settings for adding your CommuniKate e-mail account to Windows Live Mail.

To add your e-mail address to Windows Live Mail, click Add e-mail account in the left menu. Enter your e-mail address and password in the appropriate fields.

Enter the name you would like to appear in the from field by entering a Display Name. Check the box next to Manually Configure server settings for e-mail account, then click Next.

Incoming Server Information Next to My Incoming Server is a, select IMAP. Next to Incoming Server, enter mail.securekate.com Next to Port, enter 993 Check the box for This server requires a secure connection (SSL) Next to Log on using, select Clear text authentication Under Login ID, enter your FULL e-mail address.

Outgoing Server Information Next to Outgoing server, enter mail.securekate.com Next to Port, enter 465

DO NOT check the box for This server requires a secure connection (SSL) Check the box next for My outgoing server requires authentication, then click Next. Click Finish.

If you cannot send mail, please check the following settings:In Windows Live Mail, click Tools then Account Settings.

Highlight your e-mail address, click Properties. Click the Servers tab.

Under Server Information, change both the incoming and outgoing mail server to mail.securekate.com Under Incoming mail server, enter your FULL e-mail address and your e-mail password. Remember password should be checked. Select Log on using clear text authentication.

Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box called My server requires authentication. Click the Settings button, and ensure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected then click OK.

Click the Advanced Tab. Under Server Port Numbers, next to Outgoing Mail (SMTP) enter 465. DO NOT check the box for This server requires a secure connection (SSL).

Next to Incoming Mail (IMAP) enter 993, or if Incoming Mail (POP3), then enter 995. DO check the box for This server requires a secure connection (SSL).

Click Ok, then Close.
